Why local matters
Nothing to leak
A file that was never transmitted cannot be retained, indexed, or exposed in someone else's breach. The documents people most often convert — contracts, statements, ID scans — are exactly the ones worth keeping off other people's disks.
No size limit
Upload caps exist because bandwidth and storage cost money. Neither is involved here, so the only real ceiling is your device's memory. Large scans and long documents are fine.
Measured, not promised
